I know I shouldn't be so upset that he's engaged... its not like their officially married! and anyway they could always get divorced... but wishing for that not only makes me a bad fan it makes me a bad person. Its not that I don't want him to get married... but why does he have to? What makes her so special? And goddamn it if my green eye monster isn't coming out to bite me in the ass, but why her and not me... I know she's a lot older so she's been waiting a lot longer but why aren't there any guys like that for me? I want to be happy for them really I do. Its such an effort though... and its not like either of them will ever know that I secretly want their marriage to be a complete and utter failure.... ugh but again don't want him to hurt... fuck why couldn't he have just left well enough alone? Bad energy is bad energy whether he knows it or not so I really should try to be positive.
This stupid engagement is just compounded on the fact that I'm pmsing, New Moon was sold out and SN hellatus started today. I just wrote him a letter saying how he was a friend. Guess I should know that friends can hurt you. Duh.
Butt munchers.

Hiked Mt. Monadnock today. Was lots of fun but really steep/long. The view was amazing though!

Only two weeks until school starts again and I'll be a sophomore! AH! I leave for Cape Cod tomorrow and have been procrastinating packing :D I totally blame it on Kaitlyn! She's rubbed off on me!
Things to do tomorrow:
Pack
Go to the bank
Shower
Get Gas
Drive to Cape Cod

I'm so pumped to see Kelly and Kaitlyn again! Its been WAY to long! But I'm shocked the summers already over! Life just moves so quickly! Got to make sure I'm keeping up with it! Kelly sent me a package the other day with lots of letters and postcards and a tag in it! It was great to finally get some mail back from her! Kaitlyn and I have been keeping in touch pretty regularly which is good. Nicole and I haven't really talked that much this summer which is ok with me as long as we're still friends when we get back to school too.
Chris's birthday was the other day. We went to Block Island! It was so much fun but it was the longest day ever! I had worked the night before so I was wired at 10:30 and then I came home ate dinner and relaxed. After he went to bed at midnight I started working on his present. I got him 14 birthday cards. All different with all different messages. I stashed them around the house and Block Island for him to find. He seemed to like them. But it did have me up til 12:45 and we were leaving the house at 6 the next morning and my mom was waking me up at 5:30! So we were up, out, and at the ferry by 8:10! Ugh I was so tired! The day was good though. We rode mopeds, looked at all the little shops and played with hermit crabs in the sand. We took the 7:50 ferry back and I passed out. When we got in it was 9:20 at night and pitch black! We hadn't eaten dinner yet so we stopped at TGI Fridays on the way home. That restaurant has saved us from going hungry several times now. When we got home I went upstairs and passed out!!

But since then it really hasn't been quite. I had a 10:30 dermatologist apt, went back to school shopping and worked 5-10! The next day aka today (or really yesterday cause its after midnight) I was up at 9:30 cause Sally called me asking if I could come in early. I said yes that I had to shower and would be there asap. I showed up at 10:30 after cramming a muffin down my throat. I was covering for Jen P. so I was up at cash wrap. Really frustrating though as I was frantically ringing customers up I saw her getting her check from Terri! She told me she'd be out of town and really needed someone to cover for her! Ugh. Then I was suppose to be able to go at 4 because my brother and Jenna were having a little birthday party. Kristyne was coming with JJ too and it was going to be a little BBQ get together. Well Jean didn't show up til 5:15 so I was wicked late. Then they were here til 10 ish and I've only just unwound and I feel like in 12 hours I'm going to have to get up and go go go again! At least its go go go to a mini vacation! :)
Oh and I'm interested in getting a Vera Bradley bag for school. The Barnes and Nobles in Stamford sells them so I'd get my employee discount!

Gill wrote me the other day. Apologising for the way she ended our friendship. I said I would try and let the past stay in the past. She and I have been sort of keeping in touch.
Also I found some fun new travel quotes!

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” - Robert Louis Stevenson

One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” - Henry Miller

″A traveler without observation is a bird without wings.” - Moslih Eddin Saadi

“To awaken quite alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world.” - Freya Stark

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” - Miriam Beard

“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” - Martin Buber

“Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.” - Benjamin Disraeli

“Travel is glamorous only in retrospect.” - Paul Theroux

“When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.” - Clifton Fadiman

“A wise traveler never despises his own country.” - Carlo Goldoni
